“New style marks milestone in Royce Lingerie’s Sustainability Pledge for 2025.”
A brand new organic cotton bra, Eden, will be launched by Royce Lingerie in Spring 2020. The bra is the first sustainable product launch for Royce, a UK family firm and the world’s only wirefree bra specialists.
Eden is an athleisure-style organic cotton bra. An update on Royce’s best-selling Comfi-bra, Eden wears beautifully due to its enclosed front-fastening zip, soft and wide under-band and padded straps. Available in a neutral grey marl, the bra comes with cotton lining/pockets as standard. It is the debut style in Royce Lingerie’s forthcoming sustainable range.
Eden bra – £34 rrp from Royce Lingerie, www.royce-lingerie.co.uk
Available in grey marl. Sizes: 32 to 44 band, and B to DD cup. 87% organic cotton/9% elastane/4% polyamide.
Organic cotton eliminates the use of toxic and persistent chemicals, improves soil health and increases water conservation: all of which is better for the environment and for farmers and their communities. Traditional cotton farming uses 22.5% of the world’s insecticides and 10% of all pesticides. To make one white cotton shirt, it takes 2,700 litres of water – the equivalent of one person’s consumption over 2.5 years.
“Eden is a great step forward for Royce as it marks the launch of our sustainability pledge to make 20% of the range organic by 2025. Our in-house design team has carefully created a supportive, non-wired front-fastening bra in a modern shape from a gorgeous organic cotton. As with many Royce styles, Eden has a cotton lining which can be used as a pocket for a prosthesis as well.”
The launch of a sustainable range is central to Royce Lingerie’s ‘Sustainability Pledge’ – its plan to reduce the company’s carbon footprint and lead by example within the fashion, particularly lingerie, industry.
Key targets in Royce Lingerie’s Sustainability Pledge:
By 2025 at least 20% of Royce’s range will be made from organic or recycled fabrics.
All swing tags and are now made from recycled organic cotton (almost 100% organic cotton which is repurposed into paper-like labels using vegetable-based inks and chemical-free dyes).
All products are now posted in recycled cardboard boxes (until then, the existing stock of plastic bags will be used to avoid waste).
Royce Lingerie is committed to creating quality garments that fit perfectly and are long-lasting. The design team aims to create styles that are timeless and less influenced by ‘fast fashion’.
